(KLZA) -- Many activities are planned for the Memorial Day weekend at Indian Cave State Park. There will be guided horse trail rides and living history demonstrations. You will be able to see demonstrators dipping candles and making Granny’s lye soap in the village of St. Deroin. A broom maker will be in the old general store making corn brooms. There will also be a blacksmith showing the art of blacksmithing.
The museum is open all weekend and there you will be able to see displays of the park history. Many artifacts are displayed for viewing. Kids can enjoy making crafts, and a scavenger hunt can be enjoyed by the young and young at heart.
Saturday there will be a buffalo burger cookout from 11am-1pm. A nature film will be shown at the outdoor amphitheater Friday thru Sunday evenings at 9:15pm.
The “Pioneer Longrifle Gun Club” will hold their rendezvous on Saturday and Sunday from 9am-5pm and on Monday from 9am-1pm.
A chain saw carving artist will be holding demonstrations all day Sunday.
