(KAIR)--A Thursday evening traffic stop in Atchison lands one man behind bars where he faces drug related charges.
Atchison Police Chief Mike Wilson says the stop happened around 9:30 after several alleged traffic violations were committed by 32-year-old Anthony Haverkamp while traveling in the 900 block of Division Street.
Haverkamp was taken into custody on charges including possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia, which investigators say he had with him at the time the stop was made. Haverkamp is also accused of driving on a revoked drivers license, in addition to other traffic related charges.
Haverkamp made his first appearance in Atchison County District Court Friday morning where his bond was set at $10,000.
He is next scheduled to appear in court on August 25th.
