Plea Deal Reached In Counterfeit Currency Case

(KAIR)--A Falls City, Nebraska man who attempted to pass a phony $20 bill during Atchison's Amelia Earhart Festival in July has agreed to a plea deal in the case.

22-year-old Henry Wendtlandt entered a guilty plea to one count of making false information in Atchison County District Court Friday morning. In exchange for the plea, a theft charge was dropped.

Sentencing has been set for October 3rd.

Wendtlandt was arrested July 19th after he gave a counterfeit $20 to a vendor at the festival. Police confronted him, and an additional twelve counterfeit $20 bills were found in his possession.
