(KTNC)--The Humboldt City Council approved the budget for the next fiscal year as proposed. The council approved the budget and set the final tax request following public hearings Tuesday night.
The total budget amounts to just over $2.7 million, and includes money to finalize the water project. There are no other large projects included in the budget this year, as the city finishes paying off the water project.
The tax request was set at $143,846.
The council also amended the fiscal year 2013-2014 budget. That action was necessary since the city spent more on the water project than originally anticipated.
In other action, the Humboldt Council approved an application for a Class C Liquor License for Jack McNealy, doing business as “The Camp.”
And the council appointed Sharon Joyner to fill a vacancy on the Auditorium Board.
