(KMZA)--The Nemaha County Road and Bridge Department will be getting two new trucks.
County Road and Bridge Supervisor Dennis Ronnebaum on Monday presented the county commission with bids from two companies.
Following discussion, the commission approved the purchase of two Peterbilt trucks from Kansas City Peterbilt for a total cost of $154,664 with the trade-in of 2009 Mack Truck.
In addition, the Commission approved the purchase of two truck beds, snow plows and accessories from Kranz Truck Equipment in Kansas city at a cost of $81,204.
In other business, the commission approved the purchase of five hand held digital radio’s for the Seneca and Sabetha Police Departments.
Sheriff Rich Vernon requested the purchase of the radios to improve communication issues between the police departments and sheriff’s department, with the funding to come from the county’s diversion fund.
The Seneca Police Department will receive three of the handheld radio’s and Sabetha Police Department will receive two.
