(KLZA)-- No injuries reported during a house fire in Falls City Thursday afternoon.
At approximately 2 p-m the Falls City Volunteer Fire Department responded to a call at 1215 Stone Street, a home owned by Charles Edwards. Fire Chief Ken Simpson said when he arrived on the scene the entire front of the home was a yellow ball of fire. He commended the fire fighters for a job well done and noted the efforts of Jim Liming and Bobby Kermean who walked through the ball of fire, knocked in the front door and extinguished the fire.
The State Fire Marshall determined the fire was electrical in nature, likely starting from power strips leading to a computer. Damage was estimated at $35,000 to $40,000. The fire damage was limited to the area where the fire started but there was a significant amount of smoke damage throughout the two-story home.
15 members of the Falls City Volunteer Fire Department and a dozen members of the Falls City Rural Fire Department responded to the call.
