(KNZA)--A former area fire chief accused of embezzlement pleads not guilty.
That's the outcome of Tuesday morning's preliminary hearing for 45-year-old Soldier resident Ryan White.
Jackson County Attorney Shawna Miller says White is next scheduled to appear in a Jackson County courtroom on January 23rd.
White is charged with two counts of felony theft and five counts of misdemeanor theft.
He's accused of stealing around $3,900 dollars while serving as treasurer of the Soldier Ball Association from August 2012 through May 2nd of this year.
White was arrested in October following an investigation by the Jackson County Sheriff's Department.
He's currently free on $15,000 bond.
