(KNZA)--Foul play is not suspected in the death of a Pottawatomie County Jail inmate.
That word Wednesday in a press release issued by Sheriff Greg Riat.
He says the 24-year-old man was found unresponsive by a Jail Officer who was making the rounds just after midnight Wednesday.
Pottawatomie County EMS was called to the jail, leading to the transport of the inmate to the Wamego City Hospital. It was there that he was pronounced dead.
The Kansas Bureau of Investigation was notified of the situation immediately and is currently conducting an investigation into the matter.
The inmate is currently being identified only as a resident of Pottawatomie County with his name not yet made public.
