(KNZA)--A St. Joseph woman has been convicted in the malnutrition-related death of her 7-month-old baby boy.
KQ2-TV reports 22-year-old Macayla Armstrong pleaded guilty Monday in Buchanan County Circuit Court to a felony charge of abuse or neglect of a child.
Police found the baby starved to death in December.
According to court documents, Armstrong failed to provide food, medical care and sanitary living conditions for the child.
Armstrong is currently pregnant with another child.
Sentencing is set for May 28.
She remains in the Buchanan County Jail, held on $50,000 bond.
