(KLZA)-- Richardson County Commissioners last week adopted a resolution regarding the use of unencumbered budgeted funds to finance the overages of budgeted funds in the Jail budget, Humboldt Law Enforcement Contract and Emergency Management Agency and the Nuclear Emergency Preparedness budget and the Capital Acquisition / Armory budget.
The Jail budget was over $64,377, Humboldt Law Enforcement Contract was over $1,821, the Emergency Management Budget was over by $3,371, the Capital Acquisition / Armory budget was over $5,680 and the Nuclear Emergency Preparedness budget was over by a penny. The funds to cover the shortages are coming from other County Department budgets that did not require use of all of their budget.
Commissioners received an update on flood damages from the past months heavy rainfall from Highway Superintendent Scott Huppert. He also noted a problem has developed on the asphalt project and discussion has been held with the contractor to correct the issue.
A permit to operate an oversize/overweight vehicle on County Road 632 Avenue approximately a mile north of Highway 8 for Fahsholtz Movers was approved. Also approved was an agreement with Collins Construction for the Dawson West Bridge project in an amount of $250,142, with a change order from the contract price decreasing costs by nearly $19,500.
The Board discussed setting a date for a public hearing to determine the fair market value of certain lots the County owns in the Village of Verdon. More research will be done before offering the property for sale. A contract draft for the purchase of a parcel of land located in the Barada area which is the location of a tower the County plans to use for radio communications was reviewed but no action taken.
