(KNZA)--A $1,000 dollar reward is being offered for help that leads to the arrest of whoever is responsible for several recent arson fires on the Kickapoo Reservation.
“We've had about five arson fires involving hay bales on the reservation,” Kickapoo Tribal Police Chief Mike Dougherty told MSC News. “These bales are on Tribal trust property.”
Dougherty says the first arson crime was committed around the middle of June, with the latest confirmed case occurring around 11:00 Wednesday night. “We have a few leads, but we are asking for the public's help in solving these crimes.”
Anyone with information related to the arson fires is urged to contact Tribal Police at (785) 486-3665.
The Bureau of Indian Affairs Office of Justice Services is assisting with the investigation.
