(KAIR)--United States Senator Jerry Moran will make a stop in Atchison Monday afternoon as part of his Kansas Listening Tour.
The Republican Senator tells MSC News that the town hall style meeting will provide him with valuable information as he makes his way back to Washington. “This gives me a chance to hear from the residents of Atchison County...from the Atchison Community what they would like for me to focus my attention on, to answer their questions as best I can, but in the real sense, to get their marching orders, instructions, their suggestions for what they want me to do on their behalf.”
Moran says he expects a wide range of topics to be raised and that “the nation's capital, at the moment, the topic of the agreement with Iran related to nuclear weapons has been front and center for the last few days, and I would guess that would be a topic of conversation...concern about the planned parenthood funding, and the potential for a government shutdown...and so the appropriations process, the budget and getting it completed as the fiscal year comes to an end. And often times, it's local issues. Issues related to things that the folks in the Atchison area are most interested in.”
Senator Moran's Town Hall Meeting is scheduled to take place from 1:30-2:30 in the Farrell Academic Center's McAllister Boardroom, on the campus of Benedictine College.
