NEBRASKA CITY, Neb. (AP) - The mother of two boys whom police say were bound with duct tape and forced to watch the movie "Mommie Dearest" now faces child abuse charges.
The Lincoln Journal Star reports that 28-year-old Mary Lucas, of Nebraska City, was charged Monday with two felony counts of intentional child abuse. She remained jailed Friday on $10,000 bond.
Prosecutors have also charged 29-year-old Glenn Oliver with two counts of child abuse and false imprisonment. He has pleaded not guilty, and his trial is set for Jan. 6.
Police say Oliver reported that Lucas wanted the boys to watch the movie while he was baby-sitting them and that he used the duct tape to secure them to the chairs while the movie played.
