Arrest Made After Atchison Stabbing
10/12/2015

(KAIR)--Atchison police have arrested a man who allegedly took part in an early Sunday morning stabbing in the city that left one injured.

Police Chief Mike Wilson says the alleged stabbing involved a group of people in a moving vehicle in the 600 block of North Fifth Street. At some point, there was an argument inside the vehicle. It stopped, and a 25-year-old male got out. He then approached the vehicle and was allegedly stabbed by 25-year-old Christopher Weston, who was still inside the vehicle.

Wilson says the vehicle then left the area, while the victim went to a nearby home to contact police.

Weston turned himself in to police hours later. He was booked into the Atchison County Jail on a charge of aggravated battery.

The victim, who was stabbed four times in the upper body, was transported to the Atchison Hospital for treatment. The severity of his injuries is unknown at this time.
