(KNZA)--A two-vehicle wreck in Jackson County Monday afternoon sent an elderly Holton man to the hospital with serious injuries.
The Kansas Highway Patrol it happened at the intersection of U.S. 75 Highway and Golden Pond Road, south of Holton, shortly before 2:00.
The Patrol says 83-year-old Donald Griffiths was westbound on Golden Pond Road in a Ford pickup truck when he pulled out in front of a northbound Peterbilt dump truck on U.S. 75 driven by 50-year-old Topeka resident Paul Aubert.
Griffiths was transported to Topeka’s Stormont-Vail Regional Health Center with what the Patrol described as disabling injuries. Aubert was not hurt.
The Patrol says both men were wearing seatbelts.
The wreck closed down a portion of U.S. 75 Highway for a period of time.
