(KLZA)-- Nebraska Governor Pete Ricketts issued a statement Friday, announcing that all U.S. and Nebraska flags are to be flown at half-staff on Monday, May 30, 2016, in observance of Memorial Day.
Flags will be flown at half-staff until noon only on May 30, 2016, then raised to the top of the staff. Governor Pete Ricketts also issued the following statement in observance of Memorial Day:
“Over the Memorial Day weekend, Nebraskans across the state come together to remember and honor the men and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice for their state and their country. It is also a time for family and friends to gather as we enjoy the beginning of summer. Susanne, the kids, and I encourage all Nebraskans to travel safely, to buckle up, and to never drink and drive as they travel over the holiday weekend.”
