No Candidate Endorsements By Royal Valley District
10/20/2016

(KNZA)--The Royal Valley school district is not endorsing any political candidates.

That's the planned focus of a special Friday evening meeting of the Board of Education for USD 337.

Although the meeting is open to the public, announcement of the session, posted on the district's website, states that no public comments will be allowed during the special session.

According to the announcement, the meeting has been called to publicly announce that the school district is not making endorsements.

Although it's not explicitly stated in the online statement, USD 337 Superintendent Aaric Davis confirms the meeting was scheduled in regards to political advertisements paid for by the Dennis Pyle for Kansas Senate campaign. The voices of two Royal Valley School Board members, Jeff Stitham and Ann Kelly, are heard in the broadcast political advertisements. They identify themselves as USD 337 School Board members.

The meeting is scheduled for Friday evening at 6:00 at the Royal Valley District Office in Mayetta.
