Martin Luther King Jr. stated, “Life's most persistent and urgent question is, 'What are you doing for others?”
Left to Right: Russ Warner, Tammy Nichols, Sharron Sheilds, Malcolm Jones, Stacy Kull, Julie Hibdon, and Lisa Davis
The Franklin County NRCS, FSA, and Farm Loans employees assisted East Central Kansas Economic Opportunity Corporation (ECKAN) in Ottawa, KS with a service project.
The employees assisted with assembling and giving out agricultural produce to families in the community donated from local grocery stores. ECKAN’s vision is to eliminate poverty in ECKAN’s service area through individual and organizational dedication, collaboration, and innovation.
There was over 6000 lbs of food distributed to Franklin County residents. Each employee volunteered 2 to 4 hours of their time contributing to USDA’s Martin Luther King Jr. National Day of Service.
This was a great way to honor Martin Luther King Jr. by serving and lending a helping hand to the Franklin County community in collaboration with ECKAN.
