Where does one turn to for assistance with medical bills? Where do they turn when they find out their unborn daughter has a complex heart defect and will need several surgeries in the next three years with the first surgery being soon after she is born?
That is exactly where John and Kim Howard found themselves two months ago. With unbelievable medical bills after the birth of precious Rylee on March 8, 2018 they applied to the Nemaha County Catastrophic Medical Fund for help.
The Nemaha County Catastrophic Medical Fund was created from the generosity and passion of Jim and Patricia Koch. As the first recipients of $2,000 in medical bill assistance, John Howard expressed his appreciation to the Nemaha County STEP Foundation. “Thank you so much. We are so blessed to live in such a giving community. You have no idea how much this will help our family,” he shared.
If you would like to make tax deductible donation to help others in your area with unexpected, major medical expenses, you may donate to the Nemaha County Catastrophic Medical Fund online at www.nemahastep.org.
