The 2018 Beef Producers Seminar will e held on Thursday, November 8, at the St. Peter Catholic Church, Parish Hall in Stanberry, Missouri. Registration begins at 5:00 p.m. with the seminar to start at 6:30. Eric Bailey. State Extension Beef Nutritionist for MU Extension, will be discussing some of the feeding and management concerns and opportunities for the corn silage and corn baleage that was harvested this past year and feeding strategies moving forward Scott Poock,
State Extension Beef and Dairy Veterinarian for MU Extension and the MU College of Veterinary Medicine, will be discussing getting cows and heifers to breed and rebreed after the drought of 2018,as well as maintaining body condition score on your breeding-age females and how best to manage open cows. Wayne Flanary, Field Specialist in Agronomy for University of Missouri Extension, will be discussing management, recovery and looking towards 2019 regarding pastures and hay ground after the challenging year most livestock and forage producers in our area have dealt with. Area cattleman’s organizations , pharmaceutical companies and beef cattle industry representatives will have booths set up
for attendees to visit before, during and after the program. Cost of admission to the event is $25 per person and includes a beef dinner. Pre-registration is requested by November 5, 2018.For those companies or individuals wanting to display their products and information, the cost is $75 per booth and includes a complimentary beef dinner for one attendee.
