Producer Workshop on Land & Stream Health to be held in Nemaha County

The Delaware River and Tuttle Creek Watershed Restoration and Protection Strategy (WRAPS) programs will host a one-day producer workshop on January 15, 2019, at the Nemaha County Community Building in Seneca, KS. The workshop will feature nationally recognized soil health advocate Gail Fuller, a no-till farmer near Emporia, KS, since the mid-1980’s who utilizes regenerative soil health practices in his operation. Also featured will be Phil Balch, stream specialist and principal of Wildhorse Riverworks, Inc., with over 30 years of experience working with landowners on streambank and riparian area rehabilitation projects. Other resource specialists and area producers will address related conservation topics including forestry, wildlife habitat and livestock management.

This workshop is a collaboration between the Delaware River and Tuttle Creek WRAPS; Glacial Hills RC&D; Kansas Forest Service; Kansas Department of Wildlife, Parks & Tourism; Kansas State University Research & Extension; Kansas Department of Agriculture, Division of Conservation and the Nemaha County Conservation District.
