Jefferson Co Commissioners to Decide on High Dollar Graders
02/07/2012

Jefferson County Commissioners may spend around a quarter million dollars on road graders in the near future.

Commissioners held a bid opening Monday during their regular weekly meeting with Road and Bridge director Francis Hubbard.

They received two bids: one from Foley Equipment for 234 thousand 587 dollars, and the other from Murphy Tractor for 222 thousand 500 dollars.

Hubbard will review the bids and meet with commissioners next week to give a recommendation.

The county also handed out service awards for various county employees.

They honored Meghan Fowler for 10 years of service as an administrative assistant with the Health Department, Homecare Office manager Kathy Burgess for 15 years and ambulance paramedic Phil Briney for 10 years.
