The 2012 Kansas State High School Basketball Brackets Have Been Released
With Sub-State Championships won, nine local high school basketball teams will head to their respective state tournament this week to continue post season play.
In Class 1A-Division II, the Frankfort Wildcats boys will begin the state tournament as a 3 seed at Fort Hays State University after taking down the B&B Falcons in overtime to win the sub-state title. The Wildcats first round game will be this Wednesday, 3/7 at 4:45 PM. Their opponent will be the Lancer's of Crest High School from Colony.
The Wetmore Cardinal girls will join the Frankfort boys in Hays after defeating the B&B Falcons on Saturday night in the 1A-DII sub-state championship game played in Frankfort. Wetmore, the 2 seed, will play they Trojans of Logan high school at 3 PM on Thursday, 3/8.

In Class 1A-Division I, both the Centralia girls and boys will head to White Auditorium in Emporia for a shot at a state title. The lady Panthers, the 7 seed, will play Waverly (21-2) at 6:30 PM on Thursday. The Centralia boys first round opponent will be Udall (20-3) with a game time of 8:15 PM on Wednesday.

The JCN Chargers will also be sending both their boys and girls teams to the 3A state tournament in Manhattan. The second seeded lady Chargers have been assigned to play on Wednesday at 6:30 PM where they will face Madison/Hamilton (17-6). The JCN boys team, the 3 seed, will play on Thursday at 8:15 PM aginst the six seed, Sterling (19-4).

The 2012 3A State Championship Tournaments will be held at the Hutchison Sports Arena and the ACCHS girls and the Nemaha Valley Boys will both make the trip. The ACCHS girls, the number one seed, will take on Beloit (17-6) on Thursday, 3/8 at 6:30 PM. The Nemaha Valley Raiders first round opponent will be Conway Springs, the 7 seed. The Raiders will hit the hardwood on Wednesday, 3/7 at 3:00 PM.

In Class 4A the Holton lady Wildcats find themselves in familiar territory as they look to defend their 2011 title with a repeat this year in Salina. After taking care of business in their sub-state chamionship game Saturday night on their home court, the Wildcats find themselves the #1 seed in the 4A girls tournament. Up first for the cats are the Chanute Blue Comets (11-12). The wildcats first round game will be Wednesday, 3/7 at 6:30 PM.
