A traffic stop in Brown County leads to the arrest of three individuals on charges of attempted theft.
Brown County Sheriff John Merchant says 20-year-old Raeann Pinkerton of Logan, Ks, 22-year-old Taylor Allen of Holton and 22-year-old Zachary Shields of Holton were arrested Saturday. Besides the attempted theft charge, Pinkerton was also arrested for driving under the influence and minor in possession of alcohol. Allen was also arrested for furnishing cereal malt beverage to a minor. Merchant says the trio are accused of attempting to steal a Brown County road sign; and while felony charges were expected, that is now reduced. He says sheriff’s department was assisted by the Kickapoo Tribal Police Department, Sac and Fox Tribal Police Department and Richardson County Sheriff’s Department.
