Jefferson County North will no longer be part of Delaware Valley League for sports after the 2012-13 school year.
USD 339’s school board made the decision Monday evening.
They joined seven other “southern schools” that have withdrawn---including Maur Hill Mount Academy, Pleasant Ridge in Easton, Immaculata in Leavenworth, Oskaloosa, Jackson Heights, McLouth and Valley Falls.
JCN Superintendent Denise Jennings says their withdrawal was more for organizational purposes.

Jennings says they hope to join the other schools leaving the conference to create a new one for 2013-14.
In other action, the board approved the school calendar for 2012-13.
The only significant change will be for parent teacher conferences.
Beginning next fall conferences will last longer on the designated day from nine in the morning until eight that evening.
It was previously a half day of school, and then conferences ran from noon to eight.
