Kansas Highway Patrol

The Kansas Highway Patrol is wishing everyone a safe Saint Patrick's Day, and plans to be out in force, on area roads, watching for impaired drivers.
Last year, there were six fatal crashes, statewide, during the holiday weekend, and, of the six, one was alcohol-related. A total of 47 non-fatal alcohol-related crashes also occurred during the period, leaving 22 people injured.
Kansas Highway Patrol Lieutenant Robert Baker says there’s nothing wrong with an adult enjoying their favorite drink for the holiday,  but that means thinking ahead and choosing a driver who’s not consuming(Play Audio :23 seconds)
The Kansas Highway Patrol will be using their Breath Alcohol Unit during the stepped up enforcement of the weekend, with the unit to be active in numerous communities throughout the state assisting local agencies with enforcing DUI laws.
