Crews Respond to Rural Atchison Co Fire
03/28/2012

No injuries are reported after a fire broke out at a house just outside the west limits of the city of Atchison Tuesday night.

According to Shannon Township Fire Chief Spider Shell, his crews responded to a call at 7894 Pratt Road around 6:23 of smoke coming from the roof of the house.

Shell says the fire was contained to the attic and one of the bedrooms.  It was extinguished by 8 Tuesday evening, and crews stuck around for another half an hour to monitor for hot spots.

They were assisted by Rural Fire District five Lancaster/Huron.
