Nemaha Co. Neb. Commission OKs Study of Road Closures
03/30/2012

The Nemaha County Nebraska Board of Commissioners met Wednesday morning.
The board approved resolutions authorizing Mark Mainelli with Mainelli Wagner and Associates to conduct studies to possibly close or vacate two county roads.
During his meeting with commissioners, Mainelli discussed several projects that are included in the One and Six Year plan, including the stop sign study, road closures, disposal of bridge replacement right-of-way, and replacing small bridges with tubes.
Nemaha County Hospital Director Marty Fattig presented commissioners with a 10-month statistical and financial report for the hospital.  Fattig told commissioners the hospital’s purchase of a data scope did not need to be ratified, as the purchase price was less than ten thousand dollars.
The board accepted the resignation of Sandra Bertelsen from the Nemaha County Visitor’s Committee, and appointed Sondra Westenberg to fill the remainder of Bertelsen’s term, to March 2014.
The board voted to hire Joe Wittwer as Superintendent of Nemaha County Weed Control, with a salary of $13 per hour.  The hiring is effective upon Wittwer gaining accreditation, and passing drug, alcohol, and background checks.
And the board approved the purchase of a 2012 pickup with the state purchase price through Meyer Earp Auto Center for the County Road Department.
