Beatrice Man Facing Trials on Rape and Pornography Charges
04/18/2012

BEATRICE, Neb. (AP) - A 30-year-old Beatrice man has been
granted one trial for possession of child pornography and one on
charges that he raped and choked a 29-year-old woman at his home.
Gage County District Court Judge Paul Korslund granted Joseph
Buttercase the two trials on Tuesday.
His first trial is scheduled for Aug. 6 on charges that include
rape, false imprisonment, terroristic threats and strangulation.
Authorities say he attacked a woman in July after they argued.
Investigators who checked Buttercase's computer for a video of
the alleged assault say they found images of child pornography.
His pornography trial is scheduled to begin Oct. 9.
Buttercase has pleaded not guilty to all the charges.
