There’s a vacancy on the Riverside USD 114 Board of Education.
Longtime board member Brian Vincent resigned from the board earlier this month after being charged with two counts of sexual exploitation of a child and eavesdropping.
A preliminary hearing for the former Elwood police officer is set for May 17th in Doniphan County Court.
Those interested in filling Vincent’s unexpired term are being asked to apply in writing to the district office in Elwood. The position is open to those residents of District 1, which includes the Elwood area and portions of rural Wathena.
The applicants will then appear before the USD 114 Board next month to explain why they want to serve on the board.
The individual selected will fill the remainder of Vincent’s two-year term.
