Memorial services have been set for Sabetha man who died last week from injuries received in an explosion earlier this month at a Sabetha company. A memorial service for Brockhoff will be held Saturday morning at 10:30 at the Sabetha High School.
63-year-old Roger Brockhoff died last Thursday at the K-U Medical Center in Kansas City where he had been a patient since the April 4th explosion at Brockhoff Manufacturing.
Brockhoff and another employee were trying to remove a motor from the end of a grain auger when the explosion occurred. Just what caused the explosion isn’t known for sure.
The other employee was treated for minor injuries at the Sabetha Community Hospital and released.
Brockhoff was the president of the Prairie Hills USD 113 Board of Education and prior to consolidation served as president of the Sabetha-Wetmore USD 441 Board. He was a local school board member for 25 years, serving as president at least 19 of those years.
Brockhoff also served as regional vice president of the Kansas Association of School Boards.
