Minor Injuries in Holt County Crash
04/23/2012

Four teens escaped with minor injuries after the pickup they were in went out of control on a Holt County gravel road Sunday afternoon.
The Missouri State Patrol says 16-year-old Lyle Powell of Savannah, Missouri lost control of the 2008 Ford F-150 he was driving on westbound Holt County Road 340, about three miles south of Forbes.  The pickup skidded off the road and hit a tree stump and the road embankment before coming to rest on the driver’s side, on the railroad tracks alongside the roadway.
Three passengers in the pickup were taken by private vehicle to the Heartland Regional Medical Center in St. Joseph.
Powell sustained minor injuries in the accident, and three passengers, 17-year-olds Austin Cook of Savannah, and 17-year-old Kohl Moutray and 15-year-old Denziel Russell of Amazonia, also escaped with minor injuries.
The Holt County Sheriff’s Department assisted the Missouri State Patrol at the scene of the accident, which occurred at 4:20 Sunday afternoon.
