Jefferson County Commissioner spent a majority of their Monday meeting approving planning and zoning requests.
Commissioners approved the change of a district zoning classification from suburban residential to planned general commercial for property owned by Ali and Garret Currie on the condition to widen the entrance to the property of K-4 highway as required by KDOT.
They also approved a request for a replat of the Oliver Addition for Bill and Mary Oliver, as well as property on lot six of the Hickory Bluffs subdivision for Tonya Born to use as an in-home daycare.
Commissioners approved the construction of a swimming pool store for Earl Rice on the condition that the facility be subject to inspection at anytime, that no chlorine gas be stored at the site, no chemicals that require permits be sold at the store and bulk chemicals not be packaged for resale.
Commissioners also upheld the decision of Planning and Zoning administrator Bill Noll that denied the application for an agricultural lot split on the property of Gary Bernasek.
Bernasek and his wife wish to deed 40 acres to each of their children at some point in the future, but their son wishes to build a house on 10 acres of the parcel now.
Commissioners recommended the issue be resolved by splitting the 80 acres into two 40 acre parcels.
