History Comes To Life At Royal Valley

Students at the Royal Valley Middle School have been busy preparing for Friday, the day that history will come alive through displays and demonstrations, when the annual History Fair is held. 

Nate McAlister teaches 7th grade Kansas History and 8th grade United States History(Play Audio :35 seconds)

McAlister says the History Fair is in the hands of the students who have, for weeks, been planning for Friday's event(Play Audio :22 seconds) 

McAlister says the goal is to bring history to life, allowing the students to interact with the past, while learning lessons that may not seem as exciting in the regular classroom environment(Play Audio :17 seconds) 

McAlister says the public is invited to attend, with a highlight this year likely to be the firing of a civil war cannon(Play Audio :34 seconds) 

The history fair runs from 9 to Noon Friday at the Royal Valley Middle School. Admission is free.
