It’s only a drill.
That’s the message leading into Wednesday evening’s mass casualty exercise to be held at Nemaha Valley High School.
Nemaha County Sheriff Rich Vernon says his department will be joined by emergency crews from Seneca during the drill, intended to prepare for an actual crisis(Play Audio)
It’s expected that the drill will be performed several times, and will include use of the actual emergency radio equipment, with mock calls to be made over the system.
Local residents, who have already volunteered, will also be used in the scenario.
The public is invited to watch the drill, at a distance, from the city park, but will not be allowed any closer, to avoid interference with the training exercise.
