The Nemaha Central USD 115 Board has approved a new negotiated agreement with teachers.
The new contract, approved Monday, includes a 3.72 percent package increase in benefits for instructional staff members. The package includes salaries, supplemental salaries and health insurance.
The Nemaha Central Education Association has also ratified the agreement.
The negotiated agreement replaces the terms and conditions of employment issued by the interim board of education in April.
Also approved were salary increases for classified and administrative staff.
In other business, Supt. Darrel Kohlman reported that a few more individuals from Prairie Hills USD 113 have requested to transfer land to USD 115.
USD 113 has formed a committee consisting of two board members and the superintendent.
The USD 115 committee, Supt. Kohlman, Gary Niehues and Jason Hammes will meet as soon as possible with the USD 113 committee and try to come up with a solution that is agreeable with both districts.
If a recommendation is made by the joint committee, Kohlman will make the request on behalf of the USD 115 Board of Education.
