Falls City Legion Teams Pick Up Wins Thursday Night

 The Falls City Senior Legion baseball team swept a doubleheader from Hiawatha Thursday night at Dallas Jones Park. 
 In game one, Falls City scored three runs in the first inning and four more in the second on their way to an 8-0 five inning win.
 Lane Scheitel was the winning pitcher, giving up three hits and two walks in five innings.
 Falls City won the second game 10-8, also in five innings.  Hiawatha scored seven runs in the second inning and one in the third to get out to an 8-1 lead.  But Falls City scored nine runs in the bottom of the fourth, on just four hits, to claim the victory.
 Lane Scheitel was the winning pitcher, in relief of starter Reese Hogue.

 The Falls City juniors also won two games at Holton Thursday, winning by scores of 13-2 and 11-0.
 The first game went just four innings.  Falls City put it away with eight runs in the fourth inning.  Jordy Stoller was the winning pitcher for Falls City
 Game two went five innings.  Falls City scored seven runs in the fourth inning and three more in the fifth.  Brandt Vice got the win on the mound for Falls city

 Falls City hosts Seneca Monday night in what will be the final home Legion games before the field at Dallas Jones Park is renovated.
