(Wichita, Kan.)Kansas Big Brothers Big Sisters (KSBBBS) announced today that Brandon Russell has accepted the position of Chief Operations Officer, effective March 3, 2014. Russell currently serves as the Assistant Director/Chief Operations Officer of Butler County Emergency Medical Services, a position he has held for 7 years.
Says Dan Soliday, President & CEO, KSBBBS, “Because our strategic plan calls for an increase of 4,000 kids to be served statewide in addition to the 6,000 we currently serve, we knew that we would need a strong leader to help oversee infrastructure-related areas and our programs. I am confident that we have found that person in Brandon.”
As COO, Russell will oversee three core areas of KSBBBS: Human resources, Information Technology (IT) and Programs, including quality and growth. Russell holds a masters of public administration as well as a graduate certificate in nonprofit management from WSU, Hugo Wall School of Urban & Public Affairs.
Says Russell, “I cannot think of a greater organization I would rather work for than Kansas Big Brothers Big Sisters. Their mission-mindedness to serve kids facing adversity, along with their projected growth model, is a challenge I am ready to dive into head first. I am eager to begin this journey.”
