Kansas library serves as a lifeline for many
05/02/2014

Whether it’s using the library for school assignments, long-distance medicine or continuing education, libraries across the state serve as a lifeline for many families. A Kansas man with a rare ailment was able to connect with a specialist in Australia, who could speak with him via video-conferencing and suggest treatment. Employees at a nursing home use the library for online continuing education. Their facility does not provide a computer or Internet access for them to do this, but requires that the training be completed in order for the employees to keep their jobs.
