(KNZA)--A rural Horton man facing felony sex charges involving a child born in 2002 will undergo a competency evaluation.
Brown County District Court Judge Jim Patton has granted a motion filed by the court-appointed attorney for 26-year-old Shandon Hoobler.
Hoobler will be evaluated by the Kanza Mental Health and Guidance Center and if further evaluation is needed will be sent to the Larned State Hospital.
Hoobler is facing one count each of electronic solicitation of a child and sexual exploitation of a child
He was arrested in May following an investigation by the Brown County Sheriff’s Department.
Brown County Attorney Kevin Hill says the alleged offenses took place between January 1st and May 16th with a victim who resides in Brown County.
Hoobler remains in the Brown County Jail on one-million dollars bond.
