(KLZA)-- University of Nebraska Extension is sponsoring a No-Till/Cover Crop Field Day event Wednesday at the Tom Howe farm near Stella.
During the program the importance of cover crops will be discussed by UNL Extension Specialist Paul Jasa.
Lance Gunderson from Ward Laboratories will discuss a new soil health test and issues related to soil health. A NRCS soil scientist will other staff members will conduct demonstrations on soil runoff, water infiltration and discuss other soil properties.
The Field Day begins at 9:30 a-m and the program starts at 10 a-m. A free lunch will be served at the conclusion of the program.
The Howe property is located 5 miles west of Stella on 718 Road or 4 miles north of Highway 4 using 634 Avenue. In case of rain, the program will be held in the Ag Building in Humboldt.
