(KTNC)--Authorities have arrested an armed robbery suspect after a 100 mph car chase through northwest Missouri that ended when the suspect's vehicle caught on fire.
Kansas City police say the chase started Wednesday night after a person reported an armed robbery in a convenience store parking lot. Officers say the chase went through Platte and Buchanan counties and ended in Atchison county.
KQ2 News reports that Sheriff's Departments from Clay, Platte, Buchanan, Andrew, Holt, and Atchison counties participated in the chase, which reached speeds of 105-miles-per hour and covered more than 120 miles.
The chase ended at about 9:00 p.m., when the suspect's vehicle ran over spike strips on the Interstate-29. The suspect's vehicle then caught fire before stopping south of Rock Port.
Police haven't released the suspect's identity.
