(KLZA)-- Following interviews with four finalists this week the Humboldt-Table Rock-Steinauer School Board offered a contract to Sherri Edmundson to be the next superintendent of the school district. Edmundson has agreed to accept a two-year contract.

Edmundson is currently the Assistant Superintendent at the Clay County, Kansas School District in Clay Center, Kansas. She has 14 years of experience in administration.

According to her bio on the Clay County School District website, Edmundson started her career in education at Golden Plains High School, teaching business & computers and coaching volleyball, basketball, and track. She then became a Middle School and High School Principal in the district for three years.

From there, she became the superintendent & K-12 Principal in Brewster, Kansas for eight years.  She moved on to the Clay County School District in 2009 when she became the assistant superintendent.

HTRS Board President Scott Ogle said there were 16 applicants for the job. With the help of a Nebraska Association of School Boards search group, the field was narrowed to the four who were interviewed. Ogle said once the contract is signed, details including salary would be released.

Edmundson will replace Clint Kimbrough who will retire as HTRS Superintendent in June after 15 years on the job.
