(KLZA)-- Emergency railroad crossing repair work is scheduled to begin Thursday, September 3, at 7:30 a.m., lasting until 4 p-m on Nebraska Highway 62, south of Elk Creek, according to the Nebraska Department of Roads.
Work is anticipated to take one day.
Both lanes of traffic will be closed. The detour route is at the junction of N-50 and N-62, north on N-50 to the junction of N-50 and US-136, east to N-105 and south to N-62.
The crossing repair work is being done by the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway.
Motorists are asked to drive safely near construction work and along detour routes.
