Stolen LV Vehicles Recovered In Atchison Area
10/09/2015

(KAIR)--Two vehicles, reported stolen from Leavenworth, have been recovered during two separate investigations in the Atchison area.

One was recovered by Atchison County Sheriff's Deputies around 11:30 Thursday night at 294th and Westridge Drive.
Sheriff Jack Laurie says Lexington, Texas resident Johnathan Platt reported the theft to Leavenworth Police early Thursday.

The second vehicle was recovered while Atchison Police were investigating the theft of a 2005 GMC pickup stolen from the 2100 block of Atchison's Greenview Drive Thursday night.

It was during that search that Police Chief Mike Wilson says a stolen Leavenworth vehicle was discovered just a short distance away from where the first vehicle had been taken.

Wilson says it's believed the theft of the Leavenworth vehicle recovered by his department is connected to the theft of the Atchison pickup. However, it's not believed they are related to the Monday night theft of a 2003 Toyota car, stolen from a Benedictine College parking lot.

Investigations into the thefts are ongoing.
