(KAIR)--$745 paid to an underage teen for the purchase of sexual photographs.
That's one of the numerous allegations made against a long-time Atchison educator outlined in the probable cause affidavit that led to his arrest.
Robert Bulk was taken into custody July 8th following an investigation by Atchison Police. It was launched after the 14-year-old boy's mother alerted authorities to the alleged, illegal sexual contact.
The redacted document alleges that Bulk and the teen began an electronic relationship in February, beginning on Facebook and continuing through cell phone texts and the picture messaging service Snapchat.
During the course of the illegal activity, investigators allege Bulk both sent the child sexual images and videos, and requested the victim do the same, arranging payment for their delivery through Paypal.
The illegal activity is alleged to have happened from March through late June.
The document indicates Bulk never engaged in any physical contact with the teen, but made four requests to do so.
Bulk is charged with electronic solicitation of a child and sexual exploitation of a child. Along with the felony charges, Bulk is charged with misdemeanor possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, seized from his residence during the execution of a search warrant on July 7th.
He remains held in the Atchison County Jail on a bond of $100,000.
Bulk has been placed on administrative leave from his duties with Atchison's USD 409, pending what Superintendent Dr. Susan Myers calls the resolution of the case and further board action. He has worked for the district for 17-years.
He was additionally asked to step down from his role as Co-Chair of the Atchison County Democratic Party.
