Plea Entered For Second Man Involved in Atchison Burglaries
08/26/2016

(KAIR)--The second man involved in the wave of Atchison burglaries earlier this summer pleads guilty to charges.

Antonio Clayter, of Lansing, plead guilty to three counts of burglary of a non-dwelling and one count of criminal damage to property this week in Atchison County District Court.

The charges stem from a June 17 arrest for Clayter and Atchison resident 22-year-old Devan Newson following a report of a burglary at Iron Horse BBQ in Atchison.

“A vehicle seen leaving the area was located by an officer several blocks away and two suspects were taken into custody,” said Atchison Police Chief Mike Wilson. He says that burglary was among four the pair were involved from mid-May to mid-June. The other businesses victimized include: King’s Super Store, All American Pawn and Nell Hill’s.

Clayter will hear his sentence in all charges Oct 3.
