Hiawatha Blood Drive Planned For End of January
01/09/2012

Blood supplies are again at low levels, and an end of the month blood drive for the Hiawatha Community is viewed as an opportunity to increase the amount on hand(Play Audio)

That's Betty Tinker, Donor Recruitment Representative for the Community Blood Center, which serves as the only blood provider to the Hiawatha Hospital, and others in the local region(Continue Audio)

Tinker says donating to non-Blood Center drives does not directly assist the local area.

The Hiawatha Community Blood Drive will happen on Monday, January 30th, from
12 Noon until 6 pm.

Sponsored by the Hiawatha Hospital, the drive will take place at the Fisher Center in Hiawatha, and all registered donors receive a t-shirt.

Although appointments aren't required, they are encouraged, and can be done online
here and enter code hiawathacomm.
