Interviews have been set with the four finalists seeking to become the new superintendent of Hiawatha USD 415. Superintendent John Severin said the school board will conduct the first interview Thursday. He said it will be with Penny Hargrove who currently serves as assistant superintendent of Valley Center Public Schools USD 262 in Sedgwick County. Severin said Hargove has held that position for 4 years and prior to that served as a building principal for several years. Interviews with the other three finalists will be conducted January 18th, January 23rd and January 25th. Their names will be released the day prior to their interviews. The four candidates were selected for interviews from among thirteen applicants for the position. Severin said the school board is expected to select a new superintendent by the end of the month. Severin is retiring at the end of the current school year.
