A second Humboldt City Council member has filed papers to seek reelection. Crystal Dunekacke, who was appointed to the council last year after Jim McKim was elected Mayor, has filed to seek a full four-year term as Ward 2 Council member.
Current Council member Mike Riley has also filed to run for reelection to his Ward 2 Council seat. They are the only two candidates to file to run for a Humboldt City Council seat to date.
The deadline for non-incumbents to file to run in the May 15th primary is March 1st. Current officeholders have until February 15th to file, even if they plan to run for another elective office.
